Video Outlines New Features for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch

This April: Urchin Underpass will know no mercy.

It's almost time to hit the road again. Nintendo dished out lots of new information about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch, and it should arrive just in time for you to pack away Zelda.

(Just kidding. You'll never be done with Zelda.)

The video for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe goes over all its features, new and old. It outlines the included DLC and expanded character roster, explains additional Amiibo functionality, and makes mention of "Steering Mode," a new feature that makes it easier to steer and stay on the track. It's a great option for experienced players who want to race alongside youngsters, unless you're the type of parent or guardian who believes in teaching your kid to drive by throwing them off the edge of Rainbow Road.

The biggest new addition to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Battle Mode, which is looking pretty beefy. Both the Feather and Boo return for Battle Mode, and there are eight battle courses including Urchin Underpass from Splatoon and Battle Stadium. There are also five mode types: Balloon Battle (the classic), Bob-Omb Blast, Shine Thief, Coin Runners, and Renegade Roundup.

Look forward to making Lakitu fetch you out of the water again and again when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes to the Switch on April 28.
