Voldo Returns to Soul Calibur 6 in New Character Trailer

Voldo is the latest returning character to the series.

Soul Calibur 6 announced the newest returning character to its roster today and it's everyone's favorite, bondaged warrior Voldo. You can see his new look in a trailer Bandai Namco just released of the character.

Voldo is an Italian assassin who is on an eternal hunt for the Soul Edge. He's best recognized by his contorted fighting style, acrobatic moves, and bondage regalia. As you can see, he even sports a new codpiece for his Soul Calibur 6 appearance.

Voldo is the 13th returning character to Soul Calibur 6 following famous characters like Nightmare, Kilik, Ivy Valentine, Taki, Yoshimitsu, and more. The sixth main Soul Calibur game has so far only introduced two new characters one of which is the guest character Geralt from The Witcher series.

Soul Calibur 6 is retelling, sort-of reboot of the first Soul Calibur game bringing characters back to their original incarnations, but different in ways that we've yet to see. The series, which began as a story about fighters from around the world hunting a mysterious blade called the Soul Edge, kind of got progressively whacky as the games went on.

Soul Calibur 6 introduces new mechanics like Reversal Edge which is a single button input that slows down both players and forces them into a one-on-one rock, paper, scissors like mechanic. Armor break, Guard Impact, and Critical Edge also return with some changes.

Soul Calibur 6 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19 in North America. For more on Soul Calibur 6 including trailers, character rosters, and news check out our updated Soul Calibur 6 guide for the latest info.
