Watch Dogs Legion Gameplay Reveal Has a Lot of Playable Characters and Many Different London Accents, Releasing March 2020

My name is DeadSec, for we are many.

The first gameplay trailer for Watch Dogs: Legion and just as the leaks suggested, you'll be playing a Deadsec hacker in a post-Brexit London. Also on display is how Legion's NPC mechanic works.

In Watch Dogs Legion, players control anonymous Deadsec members around London as they fight back against a new authoritarian government. The demo begins with a hacker named Ian before, spoilers, he's killed. The action then shifts over to a new character who is also a Deadsec member. It seems that if a player dies, they merely change over to another Deadsec member.

The mechanic seems to be trying to capture the legions of anonymous hackers online, and how players can assume any one of their roles at any given time. Each new character a player controls seems to have unique skills and voice lines, and it is unclear how many possible characters someone can control in Watchdogs Legion.

Watchdogs Legion was leaked early last week thanks to Amazon U.K. The leak indicated there would be a mechanic to play as any NPC, but the gameplay seems to indicate that once controlled, these NPC have unique personalities and abilities.

Watch Dogs Legion is out on March 6, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can read more on tonight's Ubisoft press conference at our Ubisoft E3 2019 guide.
