Watch Lara Croft Stroke a Llama in the New Shadow of the Tomb Raider Trailer

I've stroked a llama before too. Magnificent beasts.

A new 'Welcome to Paititi' trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider has just launched. Instead of the standard trailers for the game that show snippets of action and story, this one shows an entire location in the upcoming game. And a llama.

We can safely assume Paititi will be one of the feature locations in Shadow of the Tomb Raider when it launches later this year. You can see the full trailer, which is more of a gameplay demo, just below.

The new location doesn't look too dissimilar to hub locations from the previous entry in the 'reboot' series, Rise of the Tomb Raider. We can see Lara venturing round a bustling settlement, before meeting an NPC that gives her a side quest to undertake. From there, we can see Lara interacting with the locals, with all of this taking place in South America.

From the settlement, Lara goes venturing into the jungle, creeping around creatures and swan diving into deep water from off high cliffs. We know from previous Shadow of the Tomb Raider hands-on gameplay that Lara basically causes the apocalypse in the events of the game, and for all we know she could well end up ruining this settlement in the process, but hopefully not the llama as well.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due to launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year, on September 14. For everything else you need to know about the upcoming final entry in the reboot trilogy, head over to our Shadow of the Tomb Raider guide.

Hirun Cryer is by far the most juvenile member of USgamer. He's so juvenile, that this is his first full-time job in the industry, unlike literally every other person featured on this page. He's written for The Guardian, Paste Magazine, and Kotaku, and he likes waking up when the sun rises and roaming the nearby woods with the bears and the wolves.
