Watch Nier: Automata's Yoko Taro Finally Accept His DICE Award

Yoko Taro's wandering DICE award has come home.

Nier: Automata won best RPG at the 2018 Dice Awards last month. It was another accolade for Platinum's surprise hit, but nobody showed up to claim the award. If there's anything more "Yoko Taro" than him not showing up to claim an award he justly won, I've yet to hear about it.

That's not to suggest Taro's unappreciative, of course. He and Nier: Automata co-producer Yosuke Saito showed off their award on Twitter earlier today. It was mailed out after the DICE Awards, and it arrived safe and sound.

As for the reason Taro and Saito weren't present at the Awards to begin with? Simply put, Square-Enix didn't expect to go home with the award. Dang. I know Persona 5 is stiff competition, but believe in yourself, guys! You deserve it.
