We have some more Dreams gameplay thanks to a livestream held at PAX West last weekend. It shows the devs piloting a giant mech and fending off an alien invasion, demonstrating just how versatile Dreams’ creation tools can be.
You can check out the gameplay clip below, which is set in a ruined city environment. It’s all created using the game’s extensive creation tools, right down to the music that kicks in half way through.
The highlight is definitely when the orange jumpsuit-clad avatar jumps into a giant battlemech, using cannons to take down invading alien ships. It goes a long way in demonstrating Dreams’ creation tools, given just how different it is to the last gameplay jam session we saw
Despite recent gameplay showings, Dreams is still without a release date. The creation tool/game hybrid was officially announced back in 2015 during Sony’s E3 Press Conference. Since then things have been relatively quiet, but what we have seen has been promising. At launch, Dreams will allow users to create a wide breadth of content, which they can share with others. Everything from environments to music can be tweaked and customized, and there will also be a single-player campaign to take on as well.
