Watch Today's Nintendo Direct Right Here: New Announcements, Switch Online Details, and More
The delayed Nintendo Direct is here.
The long-awaited Nintendo Direct is finally here. The new time for the Nintendo Direct is today, September 13, at 3pm PT/6pm ET and you can watch the Nintendo Direct right here.
The Nintendo Direct was originally scheduled for last week but was delayed after an earthquake struck Hokkaido. A respectful gesture that caused some on social media to lash out at Nintendo for delaying its Direct. With the new date and time set we will finally see what Nintendo is planning to announce for its upcoming fall line-up.
Where to watch
You can watch the Nintendo Direct at Nintendo’s official Direct website or YouTube page where the Direct will be hosted live. However, you can just scroll down a bit and watch the Nintendo Direct below, which we’ve embedded for you. Pretty convenient, right?
What will be announced?
We know that we’ll be getting additional details about the Nintendo Switch Online service which is coming out on September 18. The service will finally lock Nintendo’s online features behind a paywall but will be cheaper than comparable online services offered by PlayStation or Xbox. Nintendo Switch’s online subscription will also come with the long-awaited cloud save storage, but weirdly enough not for every game.
There’s also going to be some video game announcements. Civilization 6 for the Switch was apparently set to be announced last week, but the delay in today’s Direct caused the game to be announced early it seems. Beyond that there should be more surprises and details regarding upcoming releases like Luigi’s Mansion for the 3DS.
And of course, there’s bound to be more surprises for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo’s biggest release this holiday season. Will it be another new character? Waluigi? Who knows?
