Wow, this week was a mess. Between DICE Summit 2019, very sad industry news with layoffs at Activision Blizzard, and a billion games coming out, the three-day weekend can't come soon enough!
This week Far Cry New Dawn, Crackdown 3, and Metro Exodus released. Also playable this weekend is BioWare's Anthem, though only through EA's Origin Access Premier launch on PC. Still, it's a hectic week for triple-A games, so we're keeping this week's community question simple. What are you playing this weekend?
Without a good enough PC to play Anthem I'll be sitting out the early Origin Access Premier launch. Instead I'll be busy cementing my status as Tetris king among my friend group by playing Tetris 99. I've already gotten two wins, and I'm gunning for a few more so that my leaderboard status for Tetris 99 wins solidifies. If you haven't played the Tetris battle royale on Nintendo Switch, I highly recommend it. Though you'll know my bias for Tetris if you saw my game of the year 2018 award for last year's Tetris Effect.
There are a whole lot of new games out, but I'm going to be a boring old lady and stick to what I know. I'm still working on Red Dead Redemption 2, so look forward to more of my horrified Tweets as I delve further into its jolly story. Luckily, I have the cool, classy, and calm Etrian Odyssey Nexus to help me chill. Yeah, I'm going to have to do a lot of chilling this weekend. It's been quite a week.
I've been at DICE Summit this whole week and my number one plan this weekend is to lay on my couch and play a lot of Apex Legends. (I am so tired! I think I'm getting sick too as my body falls apart. It's been a great week for me.) My apologies to all the other tantalizing games that are out this weekend.
