What to Expect From Today's Battlefield 5 Reveal—Watch Here

We'll finally see what's next for the Battlefield series with Battlefield 5.

Today, EA pulls away the veil on Battlefield V in a big, livestream event hosted by The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. We will finally learn what EA has planned for their next entry into the Battlefield series. Will it take place in World War 2? Will it have a battle royale mode? We'll find out.

One thing's for certain, Battlefield is big into the "V" this year. The roman numeral for five is playing a big part in EA's Battlefield promotion. So looks like we're gonna ignore the whole chronological order of numbers thing and jump back to Battlefield 5.

Where and when can I watch the Battlefield 5 reveal?

The livestream event begins at 1pm PT/4 pm ET. You can see it over at EA's official Battlefield stream (embed below).

What can we expect to see during the Battlefield 5 reveal?

There's been a lot of reports about Battlefield 5 leading up to today's event, starting with the setting. Last year saw Battlefield return to World War 1 with Battlefield 1, and early reports said that the next Battlefield game will be a sequel taking place in World War 2. Because of that there was some confusion as to whether the game will be called Battlefield 2, or Battlefield 5.

Our own reports also mentioned the game would take place during World War 2 and that there would be an emphasis on player customization. Loot boxes would only be for cosmetics, no doubt a decision made after the Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot box controversy.

Big questions for this year's Battlefield game include whether or not there will be a battle royale mode like in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, or what the game's single-player and multiplayer modes might look like.

To find out, you'll just have to stick with us and watch this reveal stream together with the USgamer team.
