Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the Wii U will be getting a much-needed shot in the arm next month thanks to a new bundle centering on the upcoming Mario Kart 8.
The bundle includes the 32GB Premium edition of the console, a Wii Sensor Bar for use with Wii Remotes, a physical copy of Mario Kart 8 and a black GamePad controller. It's set to release on May 30 alongside two new special edition Wii Remotes featuring Princess Peach and Yoshi.
Mario Kart 8 itself will be available in two physical editions -- a standard version and a limited edition which includes a toy blue shell with which you can taunt your friends. Everyone hates the blue shell. (Except the person in last place.)
Nintendo of America hasn't commented on whether we'll see this bundle in the States as yet, but it will be very surprising if it doesn't happen. It's probably worth keeping an eye on their official YouTube channel over the next couple of days.
Jeremy came away very impressed when he took a look at Mario Kart 8 earlier this month -- let's hope the final version lives up to the lofty expectations everyone has for it, and that it'll give the struggling Wii U platform the kick up the backside it so desperately needs.
