World of Warcraft Celebrates 15th Anniversary With New Collector's Edition This October

Blizzard is offering something you can put your hands on for WoW's anniversary year.

It's a big year for Blizzard Entertainment and Warcraft. 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Warcraft as a whole and the 15th anniversary of World of Warcraft. There's a number of different celebrations happening, from the impending release of World of Warcraft Classic and Warcraft 3: Reforged, further content in WoW: Battle for Azeroth, and other in-game WoW events.

There is one hard, physical release coming though. Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition. This unique Collector's Edition doesn't actually have the game itself, but it does offer physical and digital goodies. It's coming on October 8, 2019 and players can pre-purchase it on the Blizzard Gear store for $99.99.

For that price you get:

  • Ragnaros Statue
  • Onyxia Pin
  • Map of Azeroth Mouse Pad
  • Fine Art prints
  • Alabaster Stonetalon mount for the Alliance
  • Alabaster Thunderwing mount for the Horde

I've seen the Ragnaros statue up close and it looks pretty swank in its black and gold stylings. The digital mounts also look pretty good, with new looks and apparently new animations. I'm not sure if it's all worth a hundred dollars, but I also paid $13 for a damned mount in World of Warcraft, so you shouldn't trust me with your money.

There are also a host of in-game rewards that will be celebrating the anniversary. Players who take part in undisclosed events can eventually unlock a special Worldbreaker mount, which looks like Deathwing himself, and a Lil' Nefarian pet!

If you're deep enough in World of Warcraft to buy the 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition, you can also check out our look at World of Warcraft Classic and our retrospective interview with senior art director Samwise Didier for the 25th anniversary.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
