Xbox Game Pass Adds Mortal Kombat X, Ashen, Below Coming Later This Month

December's lineup is stacked.

Microsoft just announced several new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this month including Mortal Kombat X, Hellblade, and the recently released Ashen.

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's Netflix-style subscription service where for $9.99 a month players can have unlimited access to a library of games. This library features third-party offerings like Mortal Kombat X, PES19, and Spintires Mudrunner, all announced for Game Pass today. In addition, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice by Ninja Theory (which was recently acquired by Microsoft) joins Game Pass on December 17, while Ori and the Blind Forest and Shadow Warrior 2 will be available on December 20.

In addition, ID@Xbox Winter of Arcade means that Ashen, an indie Souls-esque action-game published by Annapurna Interactive, is also available on Xbox Game Pass today after surprise releasing on the Epic Game Store. Kingdom Two Crowns and the highly-anticipated Below will be available on December 11 and 14 respectively.

Xbox Game Pass might not have been the first video game subscription service, but it has become one of the most well-known thanks to Microsoft's surprise decision of adding first-party Xbox games to Game Pass on day one of release. This allowed games like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Forza Horizon 4 to go become available on Game Pass day one. Game Pass is proving to be one off the Xbox One's killer apps and companies like EA are following suit with EA Origin Premier.
