Xbox One X Enhancements Coming to More Xbox 360 Games Soon, Microsoft Says

Microsoft addresses fans itchy for more enhanced Xbox 360 games.

The Xbox One X's enhancements of classic Xbox 360 games is one of its cooler features. But no further Xbox 360 games have received the Xbox One X treatment since the most recent batch rolled out around the console's launch last year. But more are definitely on the way.

In response to a fan inquiry about whether we can expect more enhanced Xbox 360 releases on Xbox One X, Microsoft senior director of Xbox console marketing Albert Penello said more would be coming "soon."

The current list of enhanced Xbox 360 games includes the following:

  • Assassin's Creed
  • Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
  • Fallout 3
  • Gears of War 3
  • Halo 3
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Skate 3

The Xbox One X confers some rather impressive improvements to these last-gen releases. You can see some of them for yourself in Digital Foundry's breakdown from last November.

There are plenty of natural candidates for Xbox One X enhancement for the Xbox 360, but I'm quietly rooting for Red Dead Redemption. It would be a great choice with the sequel coming later this year.

We'll let you know when Microsoft reveals the next batch of Xbox One X enhanced games for Xbox 360. In the meantime, here are 11 games with which to show off your Xbox One X while you wait.
