The Xenoblade Chronicles remake for the Nintendo Switch is on its way. Are you really feeling it? We hope you're really feeling it. The remake, officially titled Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, is coming on May 29.
After ten thousand years of speculation and rumor, Nintendo finally dropped a Nintendo Direct this morning, albeit a "Nintendo Direct Mini" that was simply posted on its YouTube channel instead of livestreamed. The presentation kicks off with a juicy look at Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, which really lets us see how lovely this unusual Wii RPG looks on the Switch.
There's more going on here than a mere visual upgrade, though. You can also look forward to some remastered music (the presentation gives us a quick listen of Gaur Plains' revised, sweeping theme). There's also a new epilogue chapter called "Future Connected." Going by its name, it might connect Xenoblade Chronicles with 2017's Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
You can pre-purchase the game today, but also coming on May 29 is a "Definite Works" edition, packing in a massive 250-page art book and a sleek box for it all to sit in.
Hopefully the news about Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and the Nintendo Direct in general have lifted your spirits during this rough time. This is the Monado's power.
