Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Delayed Until April

The song will have to wait.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has been delayed a month back and will now release on April 17. The game was previously scheduled to launch worldwide on March 20.

The news was announced publicly on the official Yakuza Twitter account, which also announced a public demo for Yakuza 6 on February 27.

"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life's release is being moved back a month to April 17. This was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly. But—with bad news, we also have some good—this gives us more time to line things up for launch, and on February 27, the demo for Yakuza 6 will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release."

No further details were offered as to why the game was delayed, but this is a big disappointment to fans who were eagerly anticipating the next Yakuza game.

The Yakuza series has seen an emergence in the west as of late thanks to a string of game releases in recent years. Yakuza 0 was named one of our best games of 2017, and it feels like the cult-series is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

We will have more information on Yakuza 6 later on as the story develops. For help with the game, check out our Yakuza 6 guide.
