Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had more than just Yakuza Kiwami 2 to reveal.

News by Mike Williams, .

As promised, this morning saw Sega's Ryu Go Gotaku/Yakuza Studio announce its next projects. The first was the leaked Yakuza Kiwami 2, a remake of the second Yakuza game coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 7, 2017. The title is based on Yakuza 6's Dragon Engine and will feature new voice actors and a new Truth of Majima Goro scenario in which Majima is playable.

The team also revealed the new Yakuza Project protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, voiced by Kazuhiro Nakaya, who fans will recognize as the voice of Yakuza/Yakuza 0's Akira Nishikiyama. Kasuga is Kamurocho born and raised, and will rise up to take back the city that is his home, according to a synopsis translated by Gematsu. He'll appear first in 2018 in Yakuza Online for smartphones and PC.

Finally, the big project coming from the Yakuza Studio is Hokuto ga Gotoku (Roughly translated to "Like a North Star", a play on Yakuza's Japanese title), a game based on the Fist of a North Star universe. Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro will be voiced by Takaya Kuroda, the voice of Kazama Kiryu from Yakuza. According to a Gematsu translation, the game will feature a story set in Eden, an entertainment district in the post-apocalyptic future of the Fist of a North Star universe.

"Eden has an inexhaustible supply of water and electricity from the giant dome-shaped 'Sphere City,' a relic of the old world overlooking the city, and that blessing provided for it to become an entertainment district. The people of Eden live a rich live unimaginable in this era. It is an indescribable city that can only be hailed as a miracle. One day, a lone man at the end his wandering finally arrives in Eden. That man’s name is Kenshiro," says the synopsis.

Yeah, they're making Yakuza, but with a Fist of the North Star as the wallpaper. Expect all the fighting, exploration, and mini-games you've come to expect from the rest of the Yakuza series, but with bigger fights according to the trailer. Hokuto ga Gotoku is coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2018.

@himuradrew I hope WE get all of it. New Yakuza and Yakuza Kiwami 2 I'm less worried about than Online and the Fist of the North Star game.

Sounds like they replaced Detective Kaoru. She sounds a bit different compared to Yakuza 2.
