Yes, That Is Kamala Khan in Marvel's Avengers, Square Enix Confirms

Crystal Dynamics ends speculation over the character's appearance in the game.

Earlier this week, gameplay footage was debuted for Marvel's Avengers. There was a very brief glimpse near the end of the demo of a character that looked a whole lot like Kamala Khan, A.K.A. Ms. Marvel. Today at Gamescom, Crystal Dynamics confirmed to USG that the character seen for a few seconds in the demo is in fact Kamala Khan.

"There is a young Kamala Khan," Crystal Dynamics studio head Scot Amos told us. "She's there on A-Day when the Helicarrier's about to go down." Great news for the comic book star.

For those that aren't familiar with the character, Kamala Khan and her superhero identity, Ms. Marvel, are relatively recent additions to the Marvel universe. Khan is a Pakistani-American teenager in New Jersey, announced by Marvel in 2013. Now in 2019, Khan is set to star in the 'Magnificent Ms. Marvel' series, written by Saladin Ahmed and illustrated by Minkyu Jung.

While Kamala Khan has been confirmed for Marvel's Avengers, there's no guarantee that she'll be suiting up as her superhero counterpart, Ms. Marvel. However, it's worth bearing in mind that there's an unspecified time skip in Marvel's Avengers after the events of A-Day. Could it be long enough of a gap for the "young Kamala Khan" to ascend to the role of Ms. Marvel? Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics aren't giving anything away at the moment.
