You Can Now Sign-Up for the PS4 System Update 6.00 Beta

Be the first to test out the newest PS4 features, whatever they might be.

Sony has opened up beta sign-ups for the new PlayStation 4 update. Little is known about system software update 6.00, though Sony is known to usually go pretty big for its whole-number updates.

The PS4 Update 6.00 beta is currently available for North America and Japan, though the Europe link has yet to go live. You can sign up if you are 18 years or older, and only if you are a PS Plus or PlayStation Now subscriber. If you’re interested in trying out the new PS4 features before everyone else, follow the links below:

We don’t yet know what Update 6.00 will include, though in the past, Sony has reserved its whole-number updates to add in fairly big features. Update 5.0 added in 1080p and 60 FPS streaming on PS4 Pro, Updated Friends List Features and changes to Notifications. PS4 updates have a habit of leaking early, so we’ll update this page if anything changes.

You have until July 27 to sign-up for the update 6.00 PS4 beta, after which Sony will take it offline.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
