Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC's Tingle Outfit Makes You Run Faster At Night

That's not creepy or anything.

In the run up to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's first downloadable content (DFC) pack, The Master Trials, Nintendo is taking a look at everything it offers. Today, it's a look at Tingle's Outfit and some would say, a look at Tingle himself. The character first appeared in Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and has since become a fan-favorite.

"Got some night creepin' to do..."

In the entry, Breath of the Wild game designer Mari Shirakawa tackles the odd character. You can almost see her wrestling with her feelings about Tingle in the writing.

"I remember how shocked I was—shocked right down to my bones!—when I first saw Tingle," Shirakawa wrote. "I thought 'he's such an unsettling character...but...he's also so adorable…' When I started thinking about it, I realized that sometimes hate can slowly turn into love. If you didn’t care about someone at all, you wouldn’t feel 'love' or 'hate' for him…"

"I'm sure there are people out there who 'hate' Tingle. However, if you hate him, that means you must 'care' about him a little bit! And THAT means your feelings toward him might change, in time. Which is why we developed a game featuring him as the main character!"

Tingle's Outfit, when worn in the full three-piece set, gives you the "Night Speed-Up" effect. Yes, the full outfit makes you run faster at night. That's at the same time the creepiest and most awesome thing ever. So perfectly Tingle that it hurts.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Master Trials will be available on June 30, 2017. You can gain access to the first DLC by buying the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass for $19.99. The Expansion Pass also includes a second DLC pack called the Champion's Ballad, coming Holiday 2017.
