I’m hoping for a new Splinter Cell. I really dug Blacklist, I replayed it loads on the Wii U so a continuation of that would be great. I know recasting Michael Ironside wasn’t generally popular but after playing Blacklist so much I rather liked the Mass Effect-esque team they built in that game and I’d like to see it return.

I wouldn’t mind a new Prince of Persia either, I thought Forgotten Sands was a massively underrated gem that was only let down by its story. Something that combines the story of Sands of Time with Forgotten Sands gameplay would be amazing IMHO.

I think we should all be very careful about getting excited about this, Nintendo Life had a story just the other day with the president of Sega Japan saying he wants to import AtGames’ mini Genesis. So this might all be a total waste of plastic and silicon.

Ooh, I didn’t know there was an unlocked frame rate option, I’m definitely going to grab this now!

Those really are awesome, I’m just not sure if I’m willing to pay full price for it again after buying it on the Wii U...

Yes! Sold! I hope they maybe offer higher sensitivity settings, the one minor downfall of Doom’s excellent motion controls is turning left/right could be a bit more responsive/sensitive.

Oh boy, so many choices! I think Super Mario World is my most replayed game (it’s also my favourite game) and because of its age it would be hard for any other game to catch up as it’s had about 28 years to accrue playthoughs.

That said, other notable games I’ve replayed loads would be:
GoldenEye 64 (I recently got an HDMI modded N64 and I’ve replayed this endlessly)
    Daytona USA
    Jet Set Radio
    Time Crisis
    Ocarina of Time
    Mario 64
    Ridge Racer
    Tetris DS

Sounds like both endings are disappointing, perhaps Ubisoft will consider patching in something better?

I’m still waiting for the Switch version. After Doom’s motion controls I pretty much want to play all first person shooters that way now.

I think in terms of the most faithful video game movie, I’d probably go for DOA as my favourite because it didn’t change or abandon most of what was integral to the story of the game. It’s not a fantastic film, but it was entertaining and faithful to the source material.

That said, I’ve always had a real soft spot for the Super Mario Bros. movie. I think if you approach it without any expectation of it bearing any resemblance to the games and just treat it as a fun ‘90s adventure movie (that just happens to name all the characters and locations after a video game), then there’s quite a lot of entertainment to be had. The sets and locations are pretty great, most of the effects are good, Alan Silvestri turns in a nice score and Dennis Hopper is on great form.

I think the worst video game movies are probably the live-action Resident Evil films. They seemed to be more of a means for the director to keep his wife in work than something made with any kind of artistic inspiration.
