I love a good WRPG with a fantastic world to explore, well developed characters, and interesting themes. Dragon Age Inquisition would be my number one if I didn't experience those damn dialogue freezes every other hour or so playing it. Totally tanked the experience for me. As such, I have to give it to Shadowrun: Dragonfull, which is far less ambitious in the technology department, but it, you know, works. As in, "functions without being stuffed to the rafters with game breaking bugs." Utterly fantastic cyperpunk RPG, don't be turned away by the meh-worthy "Dead Man's Switch" initial campaign. This is the "sci-fi Baldur's Gate" I've been waiting for.Edited 2 times. Last edited December 2014 by Unknown

@franciscovillarrealh Eh, not our problem. They're the ones who traded in future SFV purchases for SFIV updates.

With a PC version in the mix, console exclusivity is a big shrug for me; I'd rather just get that version and not worry about PS5 backward compatibility.

Now, just as a PSA: DON'T GET THIS YET. Every. Single. One. Of. You. KNOWS there is going to be a Super Street Fighter VI, and an Ultra SSFV, and Ultra Super Duper SSFV. Don't be suckered into buying the same damn game again and again. Don't be an idiot. WAIT.

Just to throw it out there, the PS4 version of Injustice will be a PS Plus game next week, so maybe wait for that if you have one.

I picked up Bayonetta 2 and enjoyed the combat, but the plot and writing makes me want to stab my eyes out and hold a tasteful little funeral for standards in storytelling, so I'm not sure I'd want to vote for it in any capacity. Really, really looking forward to Dragon Age III, though.

Baldur's Gate II may be my favorite game of all time, and I'm looking more forward to Pillars of Eternity than this, but all the same, I'm still confident Bioware can make one of the better games of the year here. It may be more Fable than D&D, but that can be fun sometimes too. I'm looking forward to it.

As someone who built a PC in February with a GTX 760 2GB, I am having really big buyer's remorse for not having sprung for a 4 GBs of VRAM. It seems that's just where things are heading for recommended spec. (Not mention the price of components, but will ALWAYS happen no matter when you buy.) I know that may put you out of super cheap budget range, but if you're fine with running games at below recommended spec...maybe just buy a PS4 and save even more money?

I really wish those were the recommended specs, I bought a GTX 760 2 GB just a few short months ago and I'm already having to run medium textures in stuff like Shadow of Modor. It is incredibly deflating, and is a huge reminder of why consoles are still so popular.

That said, the recommended specs actually call for 3 GBs of ram. It's a huge shame that it's looking more and more like PC ports of next gen games will just rely on VRAM to simulate the unified RAM architecture of the consoles.

Edit: Wait, maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure it used to say 3 GBs of VRAM, and plenty of other sites are reporting 3, but you're right, it looks like its been updated. Horray, hopefully.Edited October 2014 by Unknown

Even the PC version of KOTOR requires a crazy mod downloading, .exe file replacing shenanigans to get running in 1080p widescreen, so even us PC guys could really use a remastered version of that.

I also concur with FFXII, but only because I haven't really had a chance to play it--it just came out too late in the PS2's life cycle for me feel good about laying down the money at the time.

Posted in USgamer Community Question: What Game Would you Love to see Remastered in HD?

  • Avatar for EuroDarlan EuroDarlan 3 years ago

There are plenty of bad games I've gotten for various reasons over the years, but I don't think the regret has even sunk in quite as quickly as my impulse "hey it's on sale on PSN and I just got a PS4" purchase of Battlefield 4 the other week. I didn't even see any bugs, I just started playing it and like 10 minutes in, I realized it was doing absolutely nothing for me and never would. And I can't even sell it back for peanuts to Gamestop because it's a digital purchase. Sigh.
