I hadn't heard that people were boycotting the game for those reasons, but it makes sense if that level of authenticity is really important to you.
I'm not playing the game, but for me it's due to the pricing structure more than anything. Those paying $80 for the "full story" are encouraging these sorts of practices in the future.

Thanks for the heads up, I don't usually check in on ocremix that frequently.

I completely agree with you here, Kat. I almost exclusively play RPG's, and the PS1/PS2 were awesome for me. I didn't really have half the experience on the PS3 as I did those consoles. To be honest the DS was what carried me through that generation.

You took the words right out of my mouth Kat!

While there's certainly room for these sorts of articles (not to mention relevance due to PA's massive stature in the community), I can honestly say I'll probably avoid USgamer if they lean on pieces like this.
Editorials certainly have a place but have to be delicately handled--this one in particular doesn't present both sides of a factual argument as much as being an inflammatory/reactionary piece to a bit of a PR fiasco. It ranges from incendiary (social pariahs) to arbitrary (criticizing an acceptance of voluntary donations to a kickstarter).
