Uchikoshi's writing is actually inspirational to me. Yeah, I said that much. And I'm an English major to boot, whatever cred that gives me.

God I want ZE Vol. 3 bad.

I guess this is a sign that CDProject RED has made it?

That said, as much as I enjoyed The Witcher, I really didn't take to it's sequel all that well. Too much faffing about with a clunky UI, clunky (but interesting) quest progression system, faffing about with politics and not even witchering (what happened to taking good ole contracted monster hunting for money?).

So happy for the shoutout to this little gem. I've only seen some gameplay footage but haven't personally dived in yet; my copy is still unplayed (it's out of shrink wrap and installed on my Vita's homescreen, I got about that far).

Who knew it ended up being the single most expensive game I purchased last year? I imported it off Aksys' site in a fit of madness for my grubby Canadian hands.

Sure it's probably not the most polished nor the deepest experience, but I'm all in favor of quirky titles and this is about as strange and obscure as it gets.

    "You are slave."

Well, you've got one thing right right Atlus. Slave to your generosity and output. Keep making great games and I'll keep buying them :3

NOLF sequels get mentioned, my heart sinks a little.

The only kind of totally incidental but absolutely vital squad-dialogue I can recall from recent memory is from Left 4 Dead. For that matter the writing in Borderlands 2 is also top notch.

It's the little things like this that add up to such a rich experience and make single player campaigns worth it. I suspect the same can be said of the recent BioShock Infinite (haven't played yet, waiting for its eventual GotY packaging). And how could I forget the excellent House/Typing of the Dead: Overkill? The banter between G and Washington is great.

The lowest common denominator is the worst, basically. The games catering to "Them" are frequently entertaining, but almost always devoid of soul.

By the way, how does BC1 rank compared to 2? Mechanics, writing, presentation, etc. Looking to pick up BC2 on Steam someday. Thanks for the input :)Edited November 2013 by Unknown

I'm eyeing Rayman Legends for now as my next purchase, but Tearaway isn't far behind.

Good to know it lived up to the hype :)

Ahhh PC gamers, always asking for more. I mean, yeah, TotD:O isn't a looker, but what did you expect? It's a port of a PS3 port of a Wii title. The game still plays well and doesn't look awful. There's a lot of detail in the areas and there's some imaginative design with the enemies and level choices.

Not the scariest by a long shot, but one of the most brilliantly written and simply fun to play games: Typing of the Dead Overkill. Incredibly under appreciated gem.
